Virtual therapy to reconnect, rebuild, and rediscover yourself.
My name is Vanessa, and I founded Here & After Psychotherapy to create a compassionate and safe space for those navigating the in-between of who they are and who they see themselves becoming. I provide a non-judgmental space where we’ll work together to help you reconnect with yourself and move toward your goals.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from various modalities with attention to cultural responsiveness and identity. I view therapy as a shared space where we can work together to explore your internal world, build insight, and create meaningful change towards your goals.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist, and I am drawn to this work because I’m deeply interested in exploring what lies beneath the surface - the parts of ourselves that need to be seen, heard, and understood. In my earlier community-focused work, I found myself sitting with others during some of their hardest moments. It was in those experiences that it truly resonated with me how deeply people need to feel uniquely seen, heard, and supported.
Therapy as a profession felt like a natural extension of myself - someone reflective, creative, problem-solving and fiercely committed to holding space without judgment. I believe change happens with curiosity, care, and compassion over time.
Fun fact: I find joy in early mornings gym classes, fresh fruit, and the scent of flipping pages of a new book - things that remind me that I care for myself, as well as others.
I support individuals navigating challenges with anxiety, burnout, depression, trauma, and grief. My work often focuses on relationship issues, including communication, codependency, infidelity, boundaries, and trust repair. I also help clients explore self-esteem, identity, life transitions, and emotional regulation, as well as perfectionism, panic, and imposter syndrome. Whether you’re facing challenges, processing difficult experiences, or simply feeling off balance, this is a space to reconnect with yourself and move toward healing on your own terms and in your own time.

Therapeutic modalities are approaches or tools that guide how we work together in therapy. Each one offers a unique way to understand your experiences, make sense of emotions, and support meaningful change.
I take an integrative and flexible approach, meaning that I draw from several evidence-based methods depending on what feels most helpful for you. These are the main approaches I use paired with a brief explanation for your knowledge:
I believe therapy should feel collaborative, respectful, and tailored to you. We’ll move at your pace, using what fits best and leaving out what doesn’t.
I work with teens (14+) and adults who are navigating all kinds of life experiences.
At this time, I work exclusively in English and offer support for individuals, not couples or families.
No, all of my sessions are offered exclusively online through a secure video platform. This gives you the flexibility to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.
I currently work with clients who live in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
I, Vanessa Camillo Rende, am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), working under clinical supervision as required by the college (CRPO Registration #: 15428).
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & English from York University. I’m also a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
Professionally, my background includes working in community mental health, trauma-informed care, case management, and private practice settings. These experiences shape the grounded, compassionate, and inclusive care I aim to offer every client.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer - and that’s okay! Some clients may benefit from weekly or biweekly sessions, while others prefer monthly maintenance support.
We’ll work together to find a rhythm that supports your goals, your schedule, and your emotional capacity.
Booking is simple and secure through my Jane online platform. Once you’re a client, you’ll be able to schedule, reschedule, or cancel sessions at your convenience.
For any cancellations or changes, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to the full session fee.
Virtual sessions are available in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.
